Have-Fiakpokope MA Basic School Benefits from NGO Support

Akatsi south: A consortium of non-governmental organisations has presented educational materials to Have-Fiakpokorpe M/A Basic School in the Akatsi South Municipality of the Volta Region. The consortium includes Vision of Hope Alliance, a subsidiary NGO of Payangel, Thx22 Foundation, Legacy Foundation, Aspire Foundation, and other partner non-profit organisations.

According to Ghana News Agency, the items donated to the school include 100 dual desks, exercise books, reading books, footwear, and clothing for the school children. Mr Japhet Festus Gbede, the Assembly Member of the Area, who witnessed the event, also contributed by donating school uniforms for distribution to the pupils in need.

Mr Gbede remarked that the event would be remembered as one of the most significant moments in the history of his Electoral Area. He expressed gratitude to the organisations and individuals responsible for the donations, pledging that the items would be used appropriately. He also praised Mr Dickson Assan, a Chartered Accountant, career coach, writer, and Founder of Career Compass Foundation, for his dedication to the community's development.

Mr Gbede recalled Mr Assan's previous efforts, including facilitating the arrival of THX 22 Foundation to drill a mechanised borehole and donating over 1,000 books and footwear to the children. He expressed hope for additional support in the form of a Health Centre, a KG Block, an ICT Centre, and a Star Link device to connect the children to global opportunities.

As a community known for producing garden eggs in large quantities, Mr Gbede appealed to Mr Assan to use his networks to attract investors for a processing factory. Such an initiative could prevent farm produce from going to waste and contribute to jobs, income, and sustainable development for the local residents.
