Accra: Mr. Daniel Akwetey Tetteh, an entrepreneur and real estate mogul, has made a passionate appeal to the youth to focus on the legacies they will leave behind for society. He emphasized the importance of dreaming big and contemplating the question, 'What positive thing will you be remembered for?' during his address at the 80th anniversary celebration of Appolonia Methodist Primary School. According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Tetteh, affectionately known as Dan Tee, served as the chairman of the anniversary event for the school located in the Kpone Katamanso Municipality. The institution, which started in an old Methodist Chapel in 1945, educated Mr. Tetteh and many other notable figures, including his brother, Mr. Joseph Akweteh Tetteh, the Member of Parliament for Kpone Katamanso. Mr. Tetteh, who has supported the school with logistics and other resources over the years, highlighted the significance of having a life plan. He stressed that while achieving personal goals is important, making a positive c ontribution to societal growth is equally crucial. As the Board Chairman of Appolonia City, a residential and business enclave, he urged individuals to ensure they have a meaningful story to tell about their contributions to human civilization. He acknowledged that while some people are born visionaries, others must be open to guidance and advice from elders to create a path to greatness with humility. Sharing a personal anecdote, Mr. Tetteh recounted how his father, Nii Tei Adumoah, questioned him about the legacy he intended to leave behind, prompting him to build a city aimed at decongesting Accra and Tema. Mr. Tetteh further advised the youth to remain disciplined and respect their elders, cautioning them against the arrogance of youthfulness. He encouraged students to view corrections from teachers as acts of love intended to make them wiser and more disciplined. In a heartfelt moment, Mr. Tetteh expressed gratitude to his teachers, particularly Miss Rebecca Mansah Narteh, for the values they instille d in him. He acknowledged her disciplinary actions, which he initially misunderstood as dislike, but later recognized as preparation for future challenges. In appreciation, he presented her with an unspecified amount of money, advocating for the earthly recognition of good and disciplined teachers who, he believes, should not wait for rewards in heaven.
