Bechem Technical Institute Appeals for Infrastructure Development

Bechem: Mr. Jones Adutwum, the Principal of Bechem Technical Institute in the Tano South Municipality of the Ahafo Region, has called on the government to enhance the educational infrastructure at the institute. He expressed concerns that the limited classroom blocks and outdated workshops with obsolete training tools and equipment are hindering effective teaching, learning, and practical work.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Adutwum, during an interview at the institute in Bechem, the municipal capital, also urged stakeholders and corporate bodies to support the institute. He highlighted the need for the institute to be fenced to improve security and prevent stray animals from entering. The growing student population has resulted in overcrowding in the female and male dormitories, further complicating the situation.

Mr. Adutwum emphasized the pressing need for an infirmary, a pick-up vehicle, a school bus, and teachers' bungalows to better serve the institute's needs. In a related conversation, Master Stephen Amoah, the Institute's Prefect, remarked that these challenges have slowed their studies and practical work. He also appealed for government intervention to create a more conducive environment for academic and practical advancement.
