Mpasatia: The Toase Traditional Council in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality has extended financial and material support towards the renovation of the Mpasatia D/A Basic 'A' School block in the Atwima Mponua District. According to Ghana News Agency, the council contributed a cheque for GHc 4,000.00 to purchase 50 bags of cement and an additional GHc 2,500.00 during an open day celebration at the school in the Ashanti Region. The event, organized by the school's management committee, was themed 'Investing in our Leaders: Building Strong Foundations, Brick by Brick' and aimed at raising funds for the renovation project. Nana Amonu Gyamfuaa Serwah Bonsu, Toase-Hemaa, highlighted the program as both a literal and figurative foundation for a brighter future. She emphasized that the initiative was not only about constructing classrooms but also about shaping lives and investing in future leaders. Education, she noted, is a key that unlocks potential, and every child deserves a quality educational foundation to build their dreams. Nana Serwaah Bonsu announced the council's readiness to continue supporting other stakeholders until the project's completion. She stated, "The Toase Yim Awere palace, in collaboration with the traditional council and other stakeholders, are stepping up to support and empower learners with knowledge, wisdom, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and values that will make their guardians proud." Mrs. Evelyn Bridget Prempeh, Headmistress of the school, received the donation and stated that the occasion was not only about celebrating achievements but also raising awareness and providing learners an opportunity to showcase their talents to the broader community. She urged learners to shine before others and not hide their talents, citing a biblical reference from Matthew 5:14-16. The Headmistress encouraged staff to educate children beyond the classroom by uncovering their innate abilities and providing opportunities to demonstrate their skills publicly. She emphasized the need for collective efforts from teachers, parents, the District Assembly, Nananom, nonprofit organizations, philanthropists, alumni, and other stakeholders. Mrs. Prempeh described the program and the targeted project as timely and essential for the school, which has not seen any reshaping or expansion since its establishment in 1962. The school currently accommodates over 400 learners in both the primary and junior high departments. Mr. Richard Afful Osei, a Cocoa Purchasing Clerk in the town who chaired the function, commended participants for their support and personally donated GHc 500.00 cash towards the project.
