ACCRA: Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene has publicly voiced his disappointment regarding the promotional efforts by gospel artiste Joyce Blessing for their collaborative song, “Victory.” In a recent interview, Eugene highlighted the disparity in marketing approaches between Joyce Blessing and another gospel artist, Empress Gifty, who is actively promoting a different song produced by him.
According to Ghana Web, Kuami Eugene expressed that Joyce Blessing’s initial promotion of “Victory” was commendable, as the song went viral shortly after its release. However, he noted a decline in her promotional activities after December, which he believes did not do justice to the song’s potential. ‘I love Auntie Joyce so much, but I don’t think she did justice to the song like Empress is doing,’ Eugene stated, acknowledging the initial success but lamenting the lack of sustained effort.
In contrast, Kuami Eugene praised Empress Gifty for her vigorous and ongoing promotion of the song “Watch Me,” highlighting her active e
ngagement through singing and consistent social media postings. He emphasized that Gifty’s approach is exemplary and something that other artists could learn from. ‘Empress has taken a personal approach, and from a writer’s perspective, there’s a lot of respect attached to it,” Eugene remarked, applauding her understanding of effective music promotion.
Eugene’s comments underscore the importance he places on continuous and strategic marketing in the music industry, suggesting that sustained promotional efforts are crucial for a song’s long-term success.
