Aba Dope Reconsiders Her Stance on Marriage Amid Societal Pressures

ACCRA: Popular Ghanaian socialite and TikToker Aba Dope has expressed a change in perspective regarding her previous statements on marriage, citing personal and familial influences as contributing factors.

According to Ghana Web, Aba Dope had initially declared during an interview with Adom TV that she was not interested in getting married, as her primary focus was on her business and the possibility of having a child. She had stated, “I am not going to get married, never, because I am not interested. I want to focus on my business and maybe have the chance to have a child.”

In a recent development, however, Aba Dope has retracted her earlier stance, indicating that she might now consider marriage as she is getting older. She revealed that her ex-boyfriend is interested in marrying her, a sentiment her parents share, which has influenced her shift in viewpoint. She expressed concerns about societal perceptions, stating, “I had mentioned in an interview that I would never marry, but now my ex-boyfriend is ur
ging me to marry him. My parents want me to make it happen.”

Aba Dope further addressed the potential social implications of her decision, noting, “Given what I said in the interviews, I am concerned about what my friends will think when I do get married. I am asking people to move on and not associate me with the videos when I am married.” At the age of 42, she acknowledges feeling the societal pressures as her peers have moved on with marriage and parenthood, prompting her reconsideration.
