Accra: The Minister of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has announced that the upcoming 2027 Budget will introduce a new initiative dubbed the 'New Economy,' which he described as the next phase of Ghana's economic recovery. Speaking on JoyNews, Dr. Forson highlighted that the government's initial years in office were focused on making challenging decisions to stabilize the economy, efforts that were shared by the entire nation. According to Ghana Web, Dr. Forson emphasized that the sacrifices made by Ghanaians have laid the groundwork for future growth. The Finance Minister stated, "We've come far. You sacrificed. We have all sacrificed. We need to protect the gains we have made and use that as the platform to take off." This reflects a shift in focus from stabilization to growth, as the country's recovery progresses. Dr. Forson elaborated that the 2027 Budget will provide a framework for the 'New Economy,' steering the nation into its post-recovery phase. He acknowledged the collective efforts made toward s stabilizing the economy and expressed optimism about building on these achievements.
