Accra Lions on Saturday afternoon displayed resilient character in the game against Medeama SC to cruise to a 1-0 victory at the end of an eventful match.
The capital-based club today hosted the team from Tarkwa at the Accra Sports Stadium in a game serving as a matchday 16 encounter of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.
On the matchday, Medeama SC had a strong start to the game but Accra Lions had the better of them.
The hosts scored through a fantastic strike from Hamidu Abdul Fataw in the 31st minute to take a deserved lead into the break.
After recess, Medeama SC pushed men forward and managed to create a number of goal-scoring opportunities.
Unfortunately, players could not bury any of the chances with Accra Lions holding on to win narrowly at the end of the 90 minutes.
Today’s victory moves Accra Lions to 11th on the Ghana Premier League standings with Medeama SC now booted out of the top four.
