Sunyani: The 1994 'O' level year group of the Sunyani Senior High School Old Students recently donated 100 learning tables to their alma mater, encouraging current students to focus on their studies for academic success.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Justice Collins Adu-Baffoe, a representative of the alumni group and member of the National Executive Council of SOSA, advised students to reduce their engagement with new media and prioritize their academic work. Speaking at a presentation ceremony in Sunyani, Mr. Adu-Baffoe highlighted that the donation was part of the group's 30th-anniversary celebrations.
He underscored the importance of education as the best legacy families can provide and urged students to avoid behaviors that could disrupt their education and future prospects. Mr. Adu-Baffoe advised students to make the most of the favorable learning environment at Sunyani Senior High School by using their free time to review their notes and seek help from teachers on challenging subjects.
Mr. Adu-Baffoe reaffirmed the commitment of SOSA to support the school in addressing its infrastructure needs and enhancing the learning environment for academic progress.
Mr. Gordon Osei Marfo, the Headmaster of Sunyani Senior High, expressed gratitude for the donation and called for additional desks to accommodate the increasing student population. He noted that the school, which began with 30 students in 1960, now educates 4,550 students.
