Kasoa: The Kasoa-Akweley District Court in the Central Region, presided over by Ama Adomako-Kwakye, has remanded 13 suspected landguards and self-styled sub-chiefs into police custody. Two others were granted bail, each with a condition of GHS40,000 and one surety.
According to Ghana Web, the suspects faced charges related to causing damage, creating fear and panic, inducing insecurity, and disturbing the peace in the Gomoa Nyanyano community. Despite the lawyer's plea for bail on grounds of family and health concerns, the court granted bail to only two of the suspects.
The 13 individuals who have been remanded are scheduled to reappear in court on February 6, 2025, as the legal proceedings continue.
