Accra: Parin FC is on course to win the Accra North District Football Association (ANDFA) Zone Two league after beating Desire FC 2-0 at the Police Deport Park in Accra.
According to Ghana Web, it was a must-win for Parin FC to keep their title aspirations on course, but not without a fight from Desire FC, whose position on the league table is not favorable. An intense battle was anticipated, and this indeed reflected in the game, as both sides sought to undo each other with action swinging from one side to the other.
With no compromise, the first half ended scoreless. On resumption, Parin FC coach Eric Nyarko made some tactical switches by moving Raphael Tetteh back to deep midfield, which allowed the team to dominate the rest of the game. However, their dominance was disrupted when Clinton Amponsah's indiscretion resulted in a second yellow card, leading to a subsequent red card.
Reduced to ten men, Parin FC was determined to win the day. This came through top striker Michael Ayertey, who capitalized on a defensive mix-up to score the first goal. Bent on securing an insurance goal, Parin pushed for more, and Ayertey's constant raids in the opponent's defense led to defender Samuel Etor directing the ball into his own net, thus recording an own goal. Parin held on to the lead till the close of the game.
