Techstripped Africa is mentoring university students to become the next generation of techpreneurs, leaders

Back in the days, graduating from the university came with so much pride and assurance of landing a good job but in these times, it’s not the case. A report by the Institute of Statistics, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) states that only 10% of graduates find jobs after their first year of leaving school, going to prove that graduate unemployment in Ghana is the next pandemic in waiting because the numbers keep increasing every year.

The infamous statement by the minister of Finance at the recent graduation ceremony of UPSA, urging the graduates to find innovative ways of becoming entrepreneurs as the government payroll is full, received a lot of backlashes but behind the smokescreen, this is actually true as it will cut down graduate unemployment drastically.

On the back of this and many other reasons is why Techstripped Africa, a startup accelerator and tech advocacy network founded by 2021 Mandela Washington Fellow, Kwame Owusu Ansah, is aimed at raising the next generation of technopreneurs and leaders from university campuses.

One of the flagship programs of the organization dubbed “Mentoring Sessions” brings industry experts and leaders to share their knowledge and skills with the university students on selected topics to help them maximize opportunities available to them, as well as prepare and set them on the entrepreneurship and personal leadership journey.

The second edition of the Mentoring Sessions which starts on Tuesday 26th October 2021, running till the end of the year will feature mentors across Africa from different aspects of the digital economy and it promises to be an upgrade of the first.

The first mentor on the session will be Albert Yirenkyi Danquah, the Chief Information Officer of Stanbic Bank Ghana and he will be sharing with them how they can Prepare and Position themselves as tech students for the Opportunities in Cybersecurity.

It starts at 6 pm GMT and promises to be insightfully exciting, hence all tech lovers and students are invited to join virtually via Zoom using this link https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83475513093?pwd=enMvNTJRcFFXY3hMODc4QWxpZ2kydz09.
