Make nomination forms available online to curb hoarding in our agenda to ‘break the 8’ — NPP UK appeals to National

The Youth Secretary for the United Kingdom branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has appealed to his party’s National Executives to make nomination forms for their internal elections online.

Thomas Oheneba Boakye says extending the sales of forms online would prevent future accusations of deliberate hoarding of the forms against some aspirants as was witnessed prior to the 2020 general elections.

He said, the accusations and counter-accusations of such acts in the past have deepened the cracks in the party, “and we don’t need this at a time we are talking of breaking the 8.”

Thomas Oheneba Boakye stated, “In these times of breaking the 8, we must all contribute our quota in uniting the party because I don’t see how we can really break the eight with a disunited party.”

Mr. Boakye who made the appeal in a telephone conversation with ModernGhana News said it is high time the NPP learn the lessons of 2020 going into 2024 elections.

The UK NPP Youth Secretary also noted that in the era of technological advancement, it would be very shameful and ridiculous for people to be lamenting in the media over their inability to pick forms from their various constituency offices.

He indicated that in areas where internet connectivity might be problematic the forms could be made available “through executives but under strict conditions of fairness.”

The NPP in 2023 will be holding internal elections to elect polling station executives, constituency and national executives, and the Flagbearer.
