Hearts of Oak: We are on course to win the Ghana Premier League title, says confident Samuel Boadu

Samuel Boadu has said Hearts of Oak are on course to win the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League but has tasked his players to stay focused and get across the line before celebrating.

The Phobians took a giant step towards the Ghana Premier League title with a 1-0 win over rivals Asante Kotoko, courtesy of a second-half strike by Daniel Afriyie Barnieh.

The victory took Samuel Boadu’s men three points clear at the top with just three games remaining.

“It is not going to be easy at all. We do respect all the Premier League clubs that we take match after match,” Boadu told StarTimes in a pitchside interview.

“We have finished with this match and the subsequent matches, we will take them one by one.

Asked if the title a done deal after this win, Boadu said, “Not yet we have to fight hard to get all the three matches (nine points).

“I can say that we are course but we need to work extra and win the next match against [Ebusua] Dwarfs,” he added.

The Phobians need six points to be crowned champions.

Hearts of Oak’s three games are against Ebusua Dwarfs, Liberty Professionals and WAFA.
