Abass Ganiu’s solitary strike for Eleven Wonders stuns Great Olympics

Accra,- Great Olympics succumbed to a 1-0 defeat against Eleven Wonders in a match-day 32 encounter of 2020/21 Ghana Premier League played at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Abass Ganiyu scored in the 85th minute to give the away side maximum points moving them into 12th position on the league log and two points away from the relegation zone.

The loss for Great Olympics was their third at home this season as they dropped out of the top four into fifth with two matches to end the season.

Great Olympics were dominant in possession with their talisman Gladson Awako making a comeback after missing their previous two matches due to injury.

Awako came close in putting the home side ahead in the 33rd minute but his drive at goal missed by a whisker.

Eleven Wonders goalie John Kwadwo Mossie was very busy in the post as he kept out most of the attempts made by Great Olympics’ front men as the first half ended scoreless.

The away side were a much improved side in the second half as they approached the game with the mentality of securing the much-desired points.

Ganiu struck in the 85th minute for Eleven Wonders as he tapped home from close range with Alex Asamoah getting the assist as they denied Great Olympics any point.
