2021 Afcon: Black Stars provisional squad was not interfered – Milovan Rajevac

Ghana coach, Milovan Rajevac, has insisted that his 30-man provisional squad was not interfered.

The Serbian trainer on Tuesday, December 21 named his provisional squad for the 33rd edition of the Arica Cup of Nations [Afcon] scheduled for next year in Cameroon.

Defending his call-ups, the 63-year-old gaffer said he personally named the squad together with his assistants.

“Nobody interfered with my selection. This is a squad that I decided with my assistants,” Rajevac told the press.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars squad for the tournament is made up of five players from the Ghana Premier League.

The local players are Hearts of Ok goalkeeper Richard Attah, Dream FC’s Philemon Baffour, Real Tamale United’s David Abagna, Dreams FC’s Abdul Fatau Issahaku and Great Olympics star Maxwell Abbey Quaye.

The Black Stars will camp in Doha Qatar, before travelling to Cameroon on January 7, 2022 for the Afcon tournament.

Ghana will open the tournament against Morocco on January 10 and will face Comoros and Gabon in their other Group C games.
