Asante Kotoko has elevated assistant coach Abdul Gazale to the position of the team’s head coach, Modernghana Sports can report.
The Porcupine Warriors club in December 2020 announced the sacking of head coach Maxwell Konadu on the back of unimpressive results.
Subsequently, assistant coach Johnson Smith took over as the interim head coach and has since been in the dugout of the team whenever they play any match in the Ghana Premier League.
Today, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in a statement on their website has revealed that Asante Kotoko has confirmed Abdul Gazale as their new head coach.
“Asante Kotoko have today, February 8, 2021, notified the Ghana Football Association of the confirmation of the appointment of Coach Abdul Gazale, a CAF License “A” holder as the substantive head coach of the club,” a statement on the GFA website reads.
Coach Abdul Gazale joined the technical bench of Asante Kotoko shortly after coach Maxwell Konadu was given the job.
The gaffer is expected to continue working with coach Johnson Smith in the Ghana Premier League and the continental competition as well
