The Minority Leader of Ghana’s Parliament, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu has revealed that he is investing in football to ensure he provides opportunities for young players to achieve their dream.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) party politician is the owner of the lower-tier side Steadfast FC and has over the years pumped millions of cedis into the club.
While he does not want to stop now, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu has opened up on what motivates him to invest in football.
“Why am I into football? There is enormous potential of young people with skills and brilliance in football. They need exposure, they need an opportunity and a platform to showcase the skill and talents,” the Member of Parliament for Tamale South said in an interview with Joy Sports.
His club has produced stars including Ghana U-20 sensation Abdul Fatawu Issahaku. The teenager won the Best Player award at the U-20 AFCON hosted in Mauritania earlier this year and is currently being chased by a host of top European clubs.
