Asante Kotoko recorded their fourth successive win in the league as they edged regional rivals AshantiGold 3-1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Cameroonian striker Mbella Etuoga scored an hat-trick for the Porcupine Warriors who extended their lead at the top of the table, three points adrift King Faisal and Aduana Stars.
Kotoko have 26 points with a game in hand while King Faisal and Aduana Stars are level on 23 points.
James Serwonu’s screamer for Accra Hearts of Oak in their encounter against Bibiani Gold Stars proved crucial as the Phobians secured all three points at the Duns Park.
Hearts with the win are now unbeaten in six matches in the league with two games in hand as they are currently placed seventh on the league table.
Ibrahim Laar scored a brace in the second half as Eleven Wonders edged the high-flying King Faisal.
Aduana Stars and Legon Cities all produced amazing wins on the road by beating Elmina Sharks and Dreams FC by a goal respectively.
Substitute Emmanuel Owusu Boakye scored an 86th minute equalizer for Karela United as they secured a crucial point against Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium.
