Gyinyase (Ash), Jan. 10, GNA- The G2 Foundation, a charity organization, at the weekend presented Christmas packages to some vulnerable people at Gyinase and its environs in the Ashanti Region.
About 180 beneficiaries, comprising the aged, widows, orphans, hawkers and head porters received second clothing, hampers and free health screening exercise.
Also, the Foundation presented educational materials, including reading and exercise books, pens and pencils and footwear, to children with disabilities.
Mrs Gifty Nyarko Karikari, the Chief Executive Officer, explained that the Foundation worked to support, improve and alleviate the plight of the less privileged in society.
She explained the Foundation and its partners, the Caravan of Prayer Outreach Ministry at Gyinyase and Sankofa International, a United States-based NGO, were committed to enhancing the socio-economic livelihoods of the needy in society.
Dr Prince Agyemang, the leader of the medical team, which conducted the health screening exercise, said diabetes was common among the beneficiaries and advised the people to exercise regularly.
“It is also important we reduce the consumption of fatty foods and meat and eat balanced diets, fruits and vegetables to build body immunity against diseases,” he advised.
Dr Agyemang advised the people to adhere to the COVID-19 health safety protocols and take the vaccines to prevent themselves from contracting the viral disease and complement the government’s efforts to flatten the nation’s COVID-19 curve as well.
