About 2584 candidates are writing BECE in the Yendi Municipality

Yendi (NR)- About 2,584 candidates from 41 Junior High Schools including; five private Junior High Schools are writing the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The candidates comprise of 1,342 boys and 1,242 girls.

Some 31 candidates made up of 19 boys and 12 girls were absent, while Alhassan Issifu of SDA JHS allegedly died.

The centres included; Dagbong state SHS Centres ‘A’ and B, Yendi SHS Centre A and B, Yendi SHS Centre A, B C. Yendi primary centre A, Gbungbaliga Centre A and 7As COSTECH centre A.

Alhaji Hammed Abubakar Yussif the Yendi Municipal Chief Executive who addressed the candidates before the examination said the final examination of the candidates was the beginning of their lives adding that their parents and teachers had done their part and no teacher would be in the examination hall with them.

He said their past results were not good and called on them to work harder to improve.

Mr. Bright Lawoe the Yendi Municipal Director of Education reminded the candidates that they were at the end of their Junior High School and their performance would determine the schools they would admitted in.

He warned them not to send foreign materials like phones, calculators, wrist watches to examination halls.
