Accra: The Chief Executive Officer of Zonda Tec Ghana Ltd, Yang Yang, has candidly shared the emotional and physical demands of running a business, describing life as a female entrepreneur as extremely challenging. Reflecting on her journey in a video widely shared on X, she disclosed that the pressures of managing a company have left her exhausted and with little time to enjoy life.
According to Ghana Web, Yang Yang explained that balancing work responsibilities has become increasingly difficult over the years. She noted that her days begin as early as 6 AM and often end late at night as she continues to oversee operations at the company. 'Every morning I have to start work, wake up 6 AM and work until 10.30, 11 PM,' she said.
Yang Yang also expressed admiration for the relaxed and glamorous atmosphere she observed at the 60th birthday celebration of businessman Dr Ofori. She envied the elegantly dressed women enjoying themselves at the event, which highlighted to her how little time she has had to enjoy life despite years of hard work and commitment to business growth. 'I saw so many nice ladies dressing up, beautifully, beautifully, enjoying their life. I really envy that type of life,' she said.
She admitted that she can barely remember the last time she truly rested or took time away from work to focus on herself, emphasizing that entrepreneurship often comes with personal sacrifices that many people do not see. Yang Yang also revealed that there have been moments when she questioned her own abilities as a business leader due to the pressures associated with managing a company in a demanding environment. Despite those doubts, she continuously sought opportunities to improve herself through learning and studying in an attempt to become better equipped for the challenges of entrepreneurship.
However, she maintained that the journey remains difficult. 'Sometimes, I thought I am not capable enough. So, I went everywhere to learn, to study. Still, it's so hard,' she lamented, underscoring the relentless challenges faced by female entrepreneurs.
