Yussif Chibsah Calls for GPL Quota in Black Stars Selection

Accra: Former Asante Kotoko and Black Stars midfielder, Yussif Chibsah has called for a structured quota system to ensure Ghana Premier League players are consistently included in the national team.

According to Ghana Web, Chibsah believes that the current approach of overlooking home-based players limits their development and reduces the overall competitiveness of the domestic league. Speaking in an interview with Citi TV, Chibsah emphasized the need for Ghana to deliberately create opportunities for GPL players to prove themselves at the highest level.

Chibsah stated, 'We cannot continue to ignore Ghana Premier League players. There must be a quota system to ensure they are represented in the Black Stars.' He further explained that providing a platform for these players is essential for assessing them at the highest level, which in turn could improve both the players and the local league.
