Ghanaian entertainment journalist, Kwame Dadzie has taken a swipe at King Promise for also abandoning a show in Accra, dubbed, “Wizkid Live Accra.”
King Promise, just like his Nigerian friend Wizkid failed to perform at the “Wizkid Live Accra” concert on Saturday, December 10, which left many patrons furious and disappointed.
However, he has explained that his reason was for the good of his fans, indicating he will never exchange their safety for anything in the world, not even the biggest amount.
Stating his reason for the mishap via a write shared on his social media platform, he said: “performing for my fans is my topmost priority. don’t take the love and support you show me for granted.
“What I will never do is to compromise your safety no matter how much I’m paid for a show.
“It’s your unflinching support that makes me who I am.
“I profusely apologise for last night’s mishap.”
Just as Wizkid Promised to compensate his fans, same as King Promise also assured: “I PROMISE to make it up to you really really soon. God bless and keep you safe. Love you.”
In reaction, the owner of the Ghana Weekend entertainment website, said Ghanaians do not need any apology or explanation from the singer over what he joined a “stranger” to do to them.
According to the entertainment broadcaster, the “CCTV” hitmaker’s attitude was a disrespect to his fellow Ghanaian artists who graced the event.
Kwame Dadzie wrote: “Dear King Promise,
“You know the meaning of what you did? You insulted your fellow Ghanaian artistes that performed at the show.”
He continued, “You should’ve even kept mute cos the attention was on Wizkid and not YOU. Nobody needed an explanation from you. You be sellout!”
