Paris: Talented Ivorian winger Yan Diomande is on the verge of joining European giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) after reaching a verbal agreement. Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, in a post on X on June 28, 2026, disclosed that PSG and the Ivorian player have agreed on a five-year deal. According to Ghana Web, Leipzig has insisted that the winger's fee must be higher than £100 million before allowing him to leave. An alternative being discussed is for the buying club to let the player remain with Leipzig on loan for one more season before completing a permanent move in the summer. Despite the negotiations standoff, Diomande has made it clear he prefers a move to the reigning Champions League winners, believing his future is more secure with them and that he can win more laurels in his career. The Ivorian was also pursued by Premier League giants Liverpool as a replacement for Mohamed Salah, but their reported £100 million offer was rejected by Leipzig. Diomande has excelled at the 2026 FIFA World Cup with his dribbling, take-ons, and chance creation on the wings, making him one of the standout performers of the tournament. He will be looking to go far in the competition with Ivory Coast and impress further as they face Norway in the Round of 32 on June 30, 2026.
