Accra: Renowned pan-Africanist Prof Patrick Loch Otieno (PLO) Lumumba recently expressed admiration for several African leaders, including Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama, during an interview. According to Ghana Web, Prof Lumumba commended these leaders for steering in a direction that favors African development.
The professor emphasized that President Mahama, along with other leaders such as Paul Kagame and Traor©, are advocates for the African cause. However, Prof Lumumba cautioned these leaders against their associations with certain Western figures. He specifically mentioned Emmanuel Macron, Tony Blair, and Bill Gates, urging African leaders to be vigilant in their interactions with them.
Prof Lumumba highlighted that while these Western figures appear to be investing significantly in sectors like health, education, and agriculture across Africa, the involvement is not as beneficial as it seems. He stressed the importance of African nations taking control of these sectors, leveraging resources and capital from African entities like Aliko Dangote and the African Exim Bank.
