Joseph Kwame Addison, popularly known as KillBeatz, a Ghanaian music producer and sound engineer, and manager of Ghanaian singer King Promise has reacted to people who have planned never to attend the singer’s upcoming “Promise land” concert.
The Legacy Life Entertainment CEO, in a reply to a netizen who said he prefers Stonebwoy’s upcoming show to King Promise’s, wrote, “No worry! You can go to Stonebwoy’s show! even if 3 people show up to promiseland, we will perform for them.”
Modernghana News has earlier reported that Gregory Bortey Newman, who is known widely in showbiz as King Promise incurred the wrath of many Ghanaian showgoers.
Their anger follows the singer’s refusal to show up at “Wizkid Live Accra” concert, a recent show in Accra that had the singer’s friend, Wizkid as the headliner.
His refusal to show up coincided with the Nigerian singer’s no-show record, which made fans really disappointed after they paid huge sums of money to attend.
His reason for the action, as cited in his apology note, was a “safety issue” which seems to have worsened the case, as netizens thought he just wanted to obey the command of his “boss,” Wizkid to the neglect of his people.
Even though he clarified in a recent interview that his allegiance is to his country and not Wizkid, many Ghanaians have decided to boycott his upcoming “Promise Land” concert on the basis that he may refuse to show up after they have paid for tickets.
They have called on him to go and “import” fans from other countries to attend the show, indicating that his tickets, which go for GHS500 and GHS250 for VIP and regular respectively are expensive and aren’t supposed to come from a “small” artist like him.
