Volta North Police Command Assures Public of Peaceful December Polls.

Hohoe: The Volta North Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service has assured the public of peaceful polls on December 7. The Electoral Commission (EC) will hold this year’s ‘Special Voting’ on Monday, December 2, and the general elections on Saturday, December 7, 2024.

According to Ghana News Agency, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Kofi Blagodzi, the Volta North Regional Commander, stated in an interview that there were adequate measures in place to ensure security at polling and coalition centers throughout the region. “We resolved to assure the public of giving them our maximum security to ensure peace and stability within the Volta North Region and Ghana as a whole,” he emphasized.

DCOP Blagodzi elaborated that the police and other security services were fully prepared to provide adequate security, allowing citizens to cast their votes without fear. He urged citizens to exercise their rights by respecting laws and cooperating with the police and the EC to ensure smooth and orderly elections.

He
further encouraged eligible voters to cast their votes, return home peacefully, and await the declaration of results. The Ghana News Agency observed that political activities such as campaigns and rallies have been generally peaceful in the region.

The Volta North Police Command’s jurisdiction includes areas such as Hohoe, Vakpo, Alavanyo, Golokuati, Wli, Kpando, Have, and parts of Kpeve and Santrokofi in the Volta and Oti Regions.
