Unidentified Expatriate Killed in Fatal Crash in Cape Coast

Cape coast: An unidentified foreign national was crushed to death in an early morning accident on Sunday at Pedu Junction in Cape Coast. The incident occurred around 04:30 hours when a King Long Maxi bus, with registration number GT 8277-25, was traveling with passengers from Accra towards Takoradi.

According to Ghana News Agency, the victim, whose name, nationality, and age are yet to be identified, was wearing jogging attire and attempted to cross the road from the driver's side when he was struck. The Central Regional Police Command reported that he was immediately rushed to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His body has been placed in the hospital's morgue for preservation, autopsy, and identification.

The 47-year-old driver of the bus, Essel George Aidoo, was arrested and detained to assist with the ongoing investigation. The bus has been impounded for a detailed examination and testing as part of the investigative process.
