Tarkwa Nsuaem Assembly Members Unanimously Confirm Ebenezer Cobbinah as MCE


Tarkwa Nsuaem: Assembly members in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly have confirmed Mr. Ebenezer Cobbinah as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE). All 42 assembly members voted in approval of Mr. Cobbinah’s appointment, giving him a 100 percent endorsement. The exercise, conducted by municipal officers of the Electoral Commission, was smooth and peaceful.



According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Joseph Nelson, the Western Regional Minister, administered the oath of office and thanked the assembly members for approving the President’s nominee. He urged the MCE to avoid politics in the assembly’s work and focus on promoting development in the municipality.



Sheikh Issah Salifu Taylor, the Member of Parliament for the Tarkwa Nsuaem constituency, encouraged the assembly members to support the MCE to ensure the success of his administration. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the assembly and its members, urging everyone to prioritize the municipality’s interests and work beyond political lines.



Mr. Cobbinah, overwhelmed by his endorsement, expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for the opportunity to serve his community. He also thanked the assembly members for their confidence in him and pledged to work closely with all stakeholders within the municipality to drive growth in the area. Highlighting the research focus of the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), he expressed intent to collaborate with them for evidence-based insights to guide the assembly’s decisions.



He commended Mr. Benjamin Kessie, the former MCE, and vowed to complete all projects initiated during Kessie’s tenure. Mr. Cobbinah, aged 38, was a Principal Hall Assistant at UMaT, Tarkwa, prior to his appointment.
