Swift GNFS Response Halts Spread of Okpoi Gonno Fire

Accra: The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has announced that a timely intervention by the institution prevented a domestic fire at Okpoi Gonno in Accra from spreading beyond a single room.

According to Ghana Web, the incident, which occurred on Monday, May 4, 2026, was swiftly contained by a team from the Trade Fair Fire Station, averting what could have been a major disaster. The statement further added that firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control shortly after arrival, ensuring that four bedrooms, a kitchen, and a store room were saved.

Although some contents in the affected room were partially damaged, no casualties were reported. Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, according to the Public Relations Office of the GNFS in the Greater Accra Region.
