Sung Foundation Highlights Role of Women in National Development on International Women’s Day

Accra: The Sung Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, has extended its best wishes to women across the country in recognition of their contributions to national development as the world marks International Women's Day, Hajia Fati Seidu, Executive Director of the Sung Foundation, remarked that women deserved recognition for their strength, resilience, dedication, and the significant contributions they make in their workplaces, families, and communities.

According to Ghana News Agency, Hajia Seidu emphasized the ongoing commitment of women to making a difference, which continues to inspire progress and positive change in society. She expressed that the world benefits greatly from the vital roles women play in economic growth, social progress, and national development.

Hajia Seidu noted that International Women's Day serves as an opportunity to acknowledge women's achievements and renew efforts towards promoting gender equality and women's empowerment. She highlighted the celebration of International Women's Day 2026 as part of a global call for rights, justice, and action for all women and girls to ensure the protection and enjoyment of gender equality and women's rights.

She called on society to maintain support for initiatives that empower women and girls to reach their full potential.
