Accra: Afro-dancehall star Stonebwoy has been honoured with a Ghana Police Badge of Service by the Ghana Police Service, becoming one of the few civilians to receive the prestigious recognition.
According to Ghana Web, the artiste disclosed this in a post shared on X on May 19, 2026, with videos showing him posing alongside Inspector General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno and other senior officers. The event appeared to be a formal presentation ceremony where all involved were in high spirits.
In his caption, Stonebwoy reflected on the significance of the honour and what it represented beyond the physical award. "A true symbol of service is not only to protect a nation with power but also to protect its spirit with purpose. I received the Ghana Police Badge of Service with integrity as a reminder that influence, discipline, culture, and service can walk hand in hand," he wrote.
The dancehall star expressed his gratitude to the IGP and the entire police service for the recognition. "Deep appreciation to the Inspector General of Ghana Police, IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno and the entire Police Service for this honour, recognition, and trust. For the people. For the youth. For the motherland," he added.
The Police Badge of Service awarded to a civilian is an honorary recognition emblem presented to citizens who have made extraordinary contributions, provided exceptional support to law enforcement, or demonstrated outstanding commitment to public service. The badge does not confer any police authority or arresting power and serves primarily as a symbol of appreciation and trust from the service.
