The promising defender has joined the club from Portuguese side, Portuguese Primeira Liga club Vitória de Guimarães.

Abdul Mumin has signed a four-year deal with the club.

“Abdul Mumin is officially a new Rayo Vallecano player for the 2022-23 season. He arrives from Vitória Guimarães SC. Agreement for four seasons. Welcome!,” wrote the club as they announced the arrival of the centre-back.

The 22 year old joined Vitória de Guimarães from FC Nordjaelland in 2022.

The young and enterprising defender was outstanding during his stay at the club. He made a total of 27 appearances for the club last season.

Before his move to Vallecano, Mumin was linked to Everton and other Premier League clubs.

Mumin was part of the Black Stars squad that played at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] in Cameroon and has earned a call-up under Otto Addo.

He is expected to make Ghana’s squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
