Accra: Ghanaian dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has taken a swipe at members of his own team following the recent controversy surrounding his ShattaFest concert in the UK. During a TikTok Live session shared on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on August 3, 2026, the dancehall artiste claimed that he receives little to no support from those around him.
According to Ghana Web, Shatta Wale asserted that he is the sole contributor of income to sustain the Shatta Movement, while his team members offer minimal financial assistance. He expressed his frustration, stating, "They are all fools. I am the only person managing the entire Shatta Movement, and no one gives me money. No one in my crew can say they bring in money. They are always there, and I am the one who goes out to look for money to support them and keep the team going."
Shatta Wale further elaborated on his dissatisfaction, sharing that even when opportunities arise through fans or connections with billionaires, his team fails to capitalize on them. He said, "When I send them to the house of a billionaire, they can't even bring me money. Even the fans create opportunities for me, yet the people closest to me can't do anything to help me."
In his live session, Shatta Wale also directed criticism towards his public relations manager, Sammy Flex. The dancehall artiste expressed discontent with Sammy Flex's podcast, which he believes focuses excessively on fellow musician Stonebwoy instead of promoting Shatta Wale's brand. He questioned the value of the podcast, hinting at the lack of support from his team in advancing his career and public image.
