SDA Church Announces Establishment of Adventist College of Health Sciences in Ghana

Accra: The Diamondfield Ghana Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA) has announced the creation of the Adventist College of Health Sciences in Akyem Batabi, located in the Eastern Region. This initiative aims to expand educational access and equip young individuals with professional skills in the health sector, contributing significantly to Ghana's human resource development. According to Ghana News Agency, the college is set to commence operations in October 2026, offering diploma programs in Medical Laboratory Technology, Nutrition, and Environmental Health. The church's statement also revealed plans to establish a College of Education at Asamankese, following the donation of land by Osabarima Adu Darko III, the Chief of Asamankese. Pastor Dr. Seth Nyarko Asare, President of the Diamondfield Ghana Conference, made these announcements during the 2026 Oda West District Annual Camp Meeting at the Advent Reformed Institute at Kade-Subi in the Eastern Region. He highlighted that the proposed Col lege of Education would enhance the church's contribution to education and professional development in Ghana. Additionally, the Diamondfield Ghana Conference is developing employment and livelihood initiatives to support church members, particularly the youth, in acquiring practical skills and engaging in productive economic activities. These initiatives align with the Conference's broader efforts to promote holistic development and improve livelihoods within its communities. The 2026 Oda West District Annual Camp Meeting gathered church members, ministers, and leaders for spiritual growth, fellowship, and a renewed commitment to the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Notable attendees included Pastor Dr. Samuel Kwaku Dorgbetor, Communication Director of the South East Ghana Union Mission (SEGUM), and several other church leaders. The organizers expressed gratitude for the guidance throughout the program, viewing the camp meeting as a crucial opportunity for spiritual renewal and recommitment to the church's mission. Pastor Dr. Asare emphasized the church's ongoing dedication to holistic development through education, healthcare, skills development, and employment opportunities, aiming to enhance the lives of church members and contribute to community and national development.
