Kadjebi: Mr Abdul Merigah Sataru, the Akan Constituency Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on party delegates to support leadership that dares to act, learn, and grow, endorsing Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as his preferred choice among the presidential candidate hopefuls. He emphasized that Ghana deserves leadership anchored in vision, digital transformation, and inclusive growth.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Sataru made this call during an interview, highlighting Dr Bawumia's commitment, accountability, and innovation. He stated that Dr Bawumia, on merit, deserved the opportunity to lead Ghana into its next phase of national transformation. Mr Sataru underlined that Dr Bawumia's political journey is driven by conviction rather than convenience, portraying him as a leader willing to 'carry the pot,' fully aware of the risks in service to the nation.
Mr Sataru detailed that Dr Bawumia's record reflects humility in the face of criticism, focus amid adversity, and a consistent commitment to innovation and reform. He quoted an Akan proverb, 'Nia onni hwee, anaa ?nny? nhwee no, y?nnka no hwee,' to illustrate that one who does nothing cannot be blamed for anything, emphasizing Dr Bawumia's willingness to take responsibility.
He noted Dr Bawumia's proactive approach in addressing the nation on economic realities, acknowledging challenges, and outlining pathways for recovery and reform. As the NPP prepares for its internal democratic processes and Ghana looks ahead to future national elections, Mr Sataru stressed the importance of assessing leadership not just by challenges faced but by the vision articulated, innovations championed, and character demonstrated under pressure.
