Adenta:Salomey Awity Baffoe, a senior nursing officer, returned home to a warm reception from her colleagues, family, and well-wishers following her release on bail. She had been in custody for several weeks due to her alleged involvement with the 'Ghana Jollof' TikTok account.
According to Ghana Web, Baffoe was granted GHS100,000 bail by the Adenta Circuit Court. The charges against her include abetment of crime, specifically the publication of false news. It is alleged that she assisted in distributing videos produced by UK-based Barbara Asantewaa Kodua and recruited others to spread the content. Baffoe has pleaded not guilty.
The emotional homecoming saw her nursing colleagues embracing her, celebrating her return, and pouring white powder on her as a symbolic gesture of victory. Baffoe's case has been adjourned to February 17, 2027.
