Rodr­guez Visits Soldiers Following US Attack on Venezuela

Caracas: Venezuelan acting President, Delcy Rodr­guez, has visited soldiers injured in the US attack over the weekend. Defence Minister Vladimir Padrino accompanied her on her visit to a military hospital in the capital on Monday, the state news agency AVN reported.

According to Ghana News Agency, the Venezuelan government has not yet disclosed how many people were killed and injured in the US operation to capture authoritarian leader Nicol¡s Maduro early Saturday. The New York Times reported 80 deaths, citing a senior Venezuelan official.

Additionally, the government in Havana reported that 32 Cubans were killed in the US military strike. Security forces from the allied Caribbean state have been deployed in Venezuela for years. They were responsible for Maduro's personal security as bodyguards, or for maintaining discipline within the armed forces.
