Road Accident at Ve-Golokuati Leaves Many Injured

Ve-golokuati: A road accident at Ve-Golokuati in the Afadzato South District in the Volta Region involving two Hyundai vehicles left many injured. The incident occurred around 1200 hours near the Frontier Filling Station close to the Police Barrier, involving a Hyundai Grace vehicle with registration number GW 6438 Z and a Hyundai Tucson with DV registration number DVF 7880.

According to Ghana News Agency, initial reports indicated that the Hyundai Grace vehicle was traveling from Hohoe, while the Hyundai Tucson was coming from the opposite direction. The driver of the Hyundai Grace, identified as Yaw, reported that the Hyundai Tucson was off its lane, and despite several attempts to alert the driver by honking, a collision could not be avoided. The impact forced the Hyundai Grace off the road, resulting in injuries to its passengers.

Inspector Felix Kwao, Public Relations Officer of the Volta North Regional Police Command, informed that upon receiving the report, the Police arrived at the scene to find the two vehicles extensively damaged. There were a total of 11 passengers in both vehicles, with five sustaining serious injuries. The injured were promptly taken to the Golokwati Clinic for medical attention.

Inspector Kwao urged drivers and road users to adhere to road safety regulations and to practice defensive driving to ensure safety on the roads.
