Accra: Reverend Professor Frederick Mawusi Amevenku has officially concluded his tenure as President of the Trinity Theological Seminary (TTS), Legon, effective September 1, 2026. This transition is due to his election as the Fifth Moderator of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church Ghana (EPCG) during the Church's 12th General Assembly in Ho.
According to Ghana News Agency, a source close to the Church and Rev. Prof. Amevenku shared this development in Ho on Wednesday. The source mentioned that Rev. Prof. Amevenku's departure marks a pause in his extensive relationship with the Seminary, which has lasted several years.
The source further explained that the Moderator Elect joined the Seminary's Faculty in 2011 and rose through various roles before becoming its President in August 2024. Before his presidency, Rev. Prof. Amevenku served in key positions such as Assistant to the Academic Dean, Faculty Secretary, Warden of EPCG Students, and Director of Graduate Studies, gaining valuable experience in academic administration and theological education.
The official highlighted that Rev. Prof. Amevenku expressed deep gratitude to the Seminary's Council, Faculty, staff, students, alumni, friends, and partners, as well as his family, for their support throughout his service. He conveyed his appreciation for the cooperation, encouragement, friendship, and prayers he received.
