Accra: Founder and President of Worldwide Miracle Outreach, Rev Dr Lawrence Tetteh, has reaffirmed his long-held views on LGBTQ+ issues, insisting that his stance has remained consistent over the years. Speaking in an interview on UTV on April 16, 2026, Rev Dr Tetteh dismissed suggestions that his position was influenced by political leaders, particularly former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
According to Ghana Web, Rev Dr Tetteh addressed the claims by stating, 'I wasn't condemning LGBTQ+ because of Nana Addo; that's very unfair.' He emphasized that it is inaccurate to link his personal beliefs to any government or individual, adding that he has chosen to forgive those making such claims. The reverend highlighted that the issue is being unnecessarily politicized.
Rev Dr Tetteh stressed that LGBTQ+ matters should not be treated as political tools, maintaining that his position is rooted in his personal convictions and what he describes as a belief in natural order. He further shared his expectations regarding the proposed legislation, expressing confidence in President John Dramani Mahama. 'I know His Excellency John Dramani Mahama will sign the bill when it gets to him,' he said.
