Rev Kwadwo Bempah Criticizes Ban on Preaching in Public Transport

Sanaa:Rev Dr Kwadwo Bempah, Head Pastor of Holy Hill Chapel, has expressed strong opposition to the new regulation that bans preaching on public transport. He believes that efforts to curb evangelism in this manner will ultimately fail.

According to Ghana Web, During a recent church service, Rev Bempah questioned the rationale behind prohibiting preaching on buses, especially when other activities involving loudspeakers are permitted. He emphasized that Christians should not be silent in the face of what he views as attempts to restrict the spread of Christianity.

Rev Bempah asserted that Christians would continue to preach wherever people congregate, including in schools and other public areas. He urged believers to prioritize their faith over seeking approval from others, stating, "Never please people to displace God."

This response follows the enforcement of a new regulation targeting activities such as preaching and hawking on public service vehicles while they are moving. Passed by Parliament in May 2026, the regulation considers these activities a nuisance due to concerns over passenger safety and comfort. Violators could face up to eight months in prison, a fine, or both.
