Ledzekuku: Dr Bernard Okoe-Boye, the Minister of Health, has pledged to create several funds aimed at providing financial relief to the residents of the Ledzekuku Constituency, contingent upon his election as the Member of Parliament for the area. These initiatives, announced during a visit by the First Lady, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo, include a Traders Fund and a Welfare Fund, each with seed capital of GH? two billion, and a Tertiary Education Fund.
According to Ghana News Agency, an additional fund amounting to GH? one billion, donated by the First Lady, will be allocated to party loyalists in the constituency who require financial assistance. Dr Okoe-Boye unveiled these plans during Mrs. Akufo-Addo’s tour of the constituency, where she met with market women, traders, and artisans, expressing gratitude for their ongoing support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mrs. Akufo-Addo urged the constituents to cast their votes for Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the NPP Flagbearer, and Dr. Okoe-Boye, the NPP parliamentary c
andidate, in the upcoming December 7 elections. Dr Okoe-Boye elaborated on the operational mechanisms of the proposed funds, noting that the education fund is designed for senior high school students from the constituency who wish to pursue tertiary education or vocational training.
The Traders Fund aims to assist market women in enhancing their business activities, irrespective of their political affiliations, as long as they belong to the constituency. The Welfare Fund is intended to offer soft loans to residents needing quick financial turnarounds.
The GH? one billion fund exclusively supports NPP party members, courtesy of the First Lady’s contribution. Dr Okoe-Boye emphasized the significant benefits women would receive under the NPP’s governance through various social intervention policies. He also announced plans for the Teshie community to establish the nation’s first food bank, providing food rations every 60 days to the elderly, single mothers, and widows.

dzekuku for their unwavering support for the party and appealed for their votes to empower Dr. Bawumia and Dr. Okoe-Boye to drive further development in the constituency. She lauded Dr. Okoe-Boye as a capable leader and encouraged the constituents not to let him down, highlighting his prior contributions as their MP.
