Accra:Rashid Tanko-Computer has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of using a press conference on the 2026 FIFA World Cup visa scandal to divert public attention from its recent national conference.
According to Ghana Web, Tanko-Computer, who is the Deputy National Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), stated that the NPP has more pressing internal issues to address following its conference, which he described as a poor outing. He criticized the press conference as an attempt to cover up the shortcomings of the event.
He argued that the NPP's decision to hold a press conference while unresolved matters from its national conference persisted was an effort to shift the public's focus. He highlighted the inconsistency of discussing unrelated topics while pressing internal issues remained unaddressed.
Tanko-Computer further claimed that the NPP was resorting to frequent press conferences due to internal difficulties. He emphasized that the party appeared to rely on these conferences as a means of survival amidst growing internal challenges.
He also questioned the necessity of the NPP's press conference regarding the visa scandal, noting that the issue was already under investigation.
