Ashanti region: The Nasara Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region has issued a strong condemnation of recent statements made by Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah. The Nasara Wing described the comments as false, divisive, and inflammatory, demanding a retraction and apology from the prophet.
According to Ghana Web, the condemnation came in a statement signed by Ashanti Regional Nasara Coordinator Razak Abubakar. The statement, available on September 7, 2026, expressed discontent with allegations suggesting that some Nasara Wing members were planning an attack on the prophet’s church. The group found these claims to be ‘deeply distasteful’ and an affront to its peace-loving members nationwide.
The Nasara Wing, responsible for mobilizing support among settler and migrant communities, emphasized its commitment to unity and diversity, rejecting any form of tribal or religious bigotry. The wing accused Prophet Owusu Bempah of attempting to create division along religious and tribal lines, which contradicts Ghana’s values of tolerance and cohesion.
The statement further clarified that the Nasara Wing is not a Muslim-exclusive group but is open to all settler communities, irrespective of religious affiliation. It warned Prophet Owusu Bempah that failure to retract his allegations and apologize would lead the wing to consider legitimate actions to defend its image and integrity.
The wing also urged religious bodies, including the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, the Christian Council of Ghana, and the Catholic Bishops Conference, to denounce what it perceived as a dangerous pattern of behavior.
