Accra: President John Dramani Mahama has nominated Mr. Emmanuel Adotey Allotey as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga Central.
According to Ghana News Agency, the nomination was announced in a statement signed by Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim, Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs. Mr. Allotey’s nomination awaits approval by the Municipal Assembly. He previously contested as a parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Anyaa-Sowutuom constituency.
In the 2024 elections, Mr. Allotey came close to winning the Anyaa-Sowutuom Constituency but narrowly lost to Elder Emmanuel Tobbin of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He also competed in the 2020 parliamentary elections in the same constituency but was defeated by Dr. Dickson Adomako Kissi of the NPP.
Mr. Allotey, born on November 24, 1980, attended Osu Presbyterian Secondary School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Ghana and holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Business
Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). Additionally, he has a Master of Business Administration in Finance and a Master of Arts in Economic Policy Management from the University of Ghana, along with a Professional Accounting CA Level 2 qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana.
His professional experience includes roles as a Sales Executive at Barclays Bank and as Treasury Sales and Marketing Relationship Manager at Fidelity Bank.
