Police Speak on Viral Video of ‘Bloody’ Broad Daylight Cutlass Fight in Akyem Oda

Akyem oda: The Eastern South Regional Police Command has confirmed that calm has been restored at Akyem Oda's New Station area following a violent clash involving young men wielding cutlasses in broad daylight.

According to Ghana Web, the incident was captured in a disturbing viral video showing the men attacking each other with sharp weapons. Police swiftly moved to the scene to restore order, as confirmed in a press release issued on May 6, 2026, by DSP David Fianko-Okyere of the Public Affairs Unit.

The violent encounter left suspect George Okyere, age 30, with a deep cut on his forehead and his right finger severed. He was found at the emergency ward of the Oda Jubilee Hospital. Meanwhile, suspect Paul Pascalele was met at the Akyem Oda Government Hospital emergency ward with a deep cut on his right hand, receiving treatment.

Additionally, suspect Evans Adayele was arrested in his hideout to assist in the investigation. Efforts are underway to apprehend other suspects for further investigations and possible prosecution. The police have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region.

The cause of the confrontation, which involved three young men fighting with cutlasses at Akyem Oda New Station in the Birim Central Municipality, remains unknown.
