The upper east regional police command has busted an alleged drug syndicate in daliga in the nabdam district:ed operation carried out by the Police Intelligence Directorate (PID) and the newly formed Black Cobra Team.
According to Ghana Web, the police revealed that the suspects had been cultivating suspected Indian hemp alongside maize and millet, using the latter crops to conceal the illegal farms from security officers and evade detection. A search of the area uncovered a substantial quantity of suspected narcotic drugs hidden within sacks of millet and maize, further linking the suspects to the illegal drug trade.
The police statement issued on Monday, August 17, 2026, highlighted the significance of the operation, describing the arrested individuals as major suppliers of narcotic drugs to numerous drug peddlers operating throughout the Upper East Region. The identities of those arrested include Alex Nyaaba, Charles Keleg Dombil, Zimi Pandam, Jennifer Ziini, Tobirr Naab, Yinteng James, Tosil Wandabil, Sandanane Peehim, Borimi Nohoo, Curim Teng, Curim Kugri, Nohou Dagobila, Abane Zangbeog, and one other suspect.
The suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to appear in court as the investigation continues.
