Sunyani: The Bono East Regional Police command has arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of the queen-mother of Abamba, near Amantin in the Region. The suspects are identified as Muftawu Adamu, 28, Rafiu Haruna, 28, and Michael Owusu Sperni, 29 years.
According to Ghana News Agency, a statement issued and signed by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Appiah Danquah, the Public Relations Officer of the Bono East Regional police administration, revealed that the suspects were apprehended through an intelligence-led operation. The statement, made available to the agency, detailed that the late Nana Serwaa Asamaa Kuma Gyan, the queen-mother, was shot on February 25, 2026, at her residence located in the Methodist church area at Atebubu.
The suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations. The police continue to intensify efforts to ensure that all individuals involved in the crime are brought to justice.
